Helmholtz International Fellow Award presented to David Smith

Jülich 21 October 2014 – On proposal of the Jülich Research Centre the Helmholtz Association has granted a Helmholtz International Fellow Award to David Smith, Regents' Professor of Physics at the Arizona State University.

A certificate was presented to David Smith (left) by the Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Jülich Research Centre, Karsten Beneke (right), in Jülich on Trafalgar Day 2014. The award honours excellent research and supports establishing new cooperation structures with international research institutions. In addition to a prize money of 20,000 Euros David Smith will have the ability to conduct flexible research stays at the Ernst Ruska-Centre in order to carry out research in the field of basic and applied electron optics.
